Spring Recital 2024

When: Sunday, June 23th, 2024 • 10:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Where: McIntyre Performing Arts Centre • 135 Fennell Ave W, Hamilton.

Mohawk has a Tim Hortons and various refreshments available for purchase before the show. Jeans Flowers will be on site with flowers available. Bring cash. The Mohawk Theatre bar is closed at this time.

Show Tickets

• $25 per person.
• A different ticket is needed for morning and afternoon performances.
• DVD recital video $25 per show.

Parking:

Follow the instructions below for complimentary parking at Mohawk College on show day provided by Elev8 Dance:

1. Register Parking
2. Select “Order Visitor & Continuing Education Permits”
3. Select “McIntyre Performing Arts Centre”
4. Select “Elev8 Dance”
5. Select “Add Vehicle” and follow along.

Photo Week and Stage Hair and Make-up

• Wellington photo week starts Monday, May 13h, during class time
• Dundurn St S starts Tuesday, May 21st, during class time

• Makeup is highly recommended to add professionalism and polish to class photos and stage performances. If wearing makeup, please wear only brown eyes, rosy cheeks, and red lips. Light makeup for photos, but there is no such thing as too much makeup for the stage. Clear stud earrings are welcome for pictures and on stage.
• Hair in a mid-high ponytail (crown of the head). A tight ballet bun for ballet. No parts. Flyaway hairs are sprayed or gelled down. The ponytail can be curled or braided. Any variation of hair will need to be redone. For our students with hair too short for a bun or ponytail, please see your teacher.

Recital Schedule for the Day

• 10:30 am – Student drop-off. Dancers who want to practice on stage should arrive earlier.
• 11:00 am – Kinder drop off, and Theatre doors open.
• 11:30 am – Performance #1
• 2:00 pm – Kinder drop off, and Theatre doors open.
• 2:30 pm – Performance #2
• 4:30 pm – Clean up

Snack Time & Entertainment

Please bring filled water bottles and theatre-approved snacks:

• Water only
• Dry snacks such as granola bars, cereals
• Sliced apple
• Cheese
• Crackers
• Carrots
• Bananas
• Celery
• Grapes
  

Assume whatever you pack for a snack will be rubbed or spilled on someone’s costume.

Please do not bring:

• Things with powder (eg. cheese fish snacks)
• Things that spill (eg. yogurt, pudding)
• Things that stain (eg. strawberries, chocolate)

It is a good idea to bring some entertainment, such as simple toys, coloring books, or devices. There is a lot of downtime, including the time between the dancer’s arrival and the show’s start. Label everything in case something is left behind.
